Abstract


Science has been developed with the aims to obtain the truth that can be accepted and applied by society. The development of science is based on three dimentions i.e ontology, epistemology and axiology. Not only aimed to solve the problem of humanity, science can also be used to forecast and control phenomenon. In the context of International Relations study, the development of science can influence the research agenda and shift the basic assumtions that served as fundamental to develop the discipline. This article will try to describe how the development of science influence the shift of diplomacy paradigm in the study of IR
